MY BEACH IN SOUTH SARDINIA

This is Tuerredda Beach on the south western coast of Sardinia, near Teulada. Some travelers like to call it “Mauritius in the Med”, but I prefer to simply call it “my beach”. When I was a child I used to come here with my family and already back then this mind-blowing spot of natural beauty was my favorite in all South Sardinia.

Still today Tuerredda has not changed and continues to play its magic on visitors … Its fascination has definitely deeply touched my soul.. and that’s why I continue to come here, year after year, almost like a pilgrim.

Here the sand is fine and white, the water incredibly transparent, nature pristine. If you prefer, come in the evening to discover all its glamour!

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED THIS BERRY?

This small dark red fruit grows on the corbezzolo (strawberry tree in English), a bush that can be found everywhere in South Sardinia.

The berry, only 1-2 cm in size, blooms from October to December and generate fruits the following autumn. The extracts of the berries , leaves and flowers have astringent, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic and digestive properties.

The corbezzolo fruit is edible and can be used to make jams, jellies, syrups, juices, creams, sauces and candies. So why not try them next time you see them on your way?

I LOVE THESE GOLDEN RINGS

I cannot visit Italy without eating at least once fried calamari! It is a very simply but delicious dish that I particularly like to eat with my fingers, preferably with an amazing view on the Sardinian sea 🙂

The fried calamari requires a few little hints to make them come as they should: soft inside, crispy on the outside, light and tasty. Here is a very simple video recipe of Fried Calamari with Lemon Mayonnaise. WOW …. YUMMY … You have to try it!

My personal tip: for a more interesting texture, use semonlina instead of plain flower!

What to do in SouthSardinia – Sailing – Sailing Tour along the Gulf of Teulada and Cala Zaffarano

The south coast of Sardinia is an almost untouched paradise. Take this day tour on a sailing boat and discover the area around Teulada with its wild nature, numerous cliffs, crystal clear sea and almost deserted white sandy beaches. Visit Cala Zaffarano that can only be reached by boat: a beach of fine and soft sand, protected from the wind by small sand dunes where junipers and sea lilies live in loneliness and harmony. On the shore, the erosion of coral, gave to the sea unique pink reflex.

The tour starts in the new marina of Teulada at 10:30. Lunch will be served aboard and you will return at 17:00. For reservations, contact: https://www.sardeo.com/reservation/
